Sometimes I'm Productive..

Apron:

This actually was a team effort. Alyssa and I started making it while she was here in January. Then she left, and the pattern didn't make any sense to me with my lack of sewing expertise. Finally, Curt got frustrated at how long it had been laying on the desk unfinished so he got out the sewing machine and got to work. I did help a little with the part that I could understand. This is the finished product...Curt promised me yesterday that he is going to make a diaper bag (upon the conditions that I buy fabric and the pattern. I'm excited for his next project :)

Picture Frames

They aren't perfect, so don't look too closely! But I really liked the idea. I think I'm going to hang them with ribbon onto a curtain rod and hang them on the wall in Brooklyn's room. Scrapbook paper and mod podge are amazing!

Brooklyn Blocks

I love these! I just have to put Brooklyn's name on them and mod podge over it and they will be done. I love the colors! She's going to have the cutest room.

Baby Bracelets

Alyssa taught me how to make jewelry last summer. I fell in love with baby bracelets! So when I got home, I collected all the supplies to make jewelry. I did a bit with it in the beginning, and then it all sat unused for a while. That is, until we found out we're having a girl!! I've only made these 3 since I obviously don't know how big she'll come out but I'm excited to make more after she is born.

I've decided recently that instead of being bored, I'm going to keep myself busy with little fun projects. Next, I want to make a block quilt. If anyone has any fun craft ideas let me know! I have lots of free time to fill!

Fly Like an Eagle!

Last week was a VERY good one! We were deciding which P.T. school we were going to hold a spot at. Curt had to answer UNLV back by last Thursday. He was going to decline and we were going to put money down for the UofU. As he was writing the e-mail to decline the spot, neither of us felt good about it. We knew that if we didn't get into Eastern, that would be where he would want to go. Their deposit to hold the spot was $450, and Utah's was only $100. So we decided to just send the check and not worry about the money. I went to the post office and mailed it and we felt good about that decision.

Well about 20 minutes after I got home from the post office, Curt calls and asks if I'd already mailed the check, which I answered that I had. He was quiet for a moment and I asked, "Why...Did you get into Eastern??!" He told me he'd just gotten an e-mail saying he was accepted into EWU's P.T. program!! I was SOOO excited! So Curt will be flying as an Eagle in the fall!!

We were so excited to let our families know, since they were pulling for this all along. I told my mom and she yelled with excitement! This is an answer to prayers in so many ways. We will be moving to Spokane in June, a few weeks after Brooklyn is born. The program doesn't start until September so we are excited to take a couple vacations this summer, which we will be able to afford because my parents are so generously letting us live with them.

We feel so blessed! Curt was accepted into all 4 programs that he interviews at, and it's so relieving to know where and what we'll be doing. I'm so excited to live close to our families. Brooklyn is a lucky girl to get to live by both sets of grandparents!

(And as far as the $450 deposit goes, we cancelled the check and Curt e-mailed UNLV and told them he wouldn't be attending their program. I was just grateful to find out about EWU in time to cancel the check!....What a blessing!!)

Mardi Gras Party!

Ok, so not really a party, but we did have a little taste of Mardi Gras to celebrate it today. Usually I spend too much time wasted on my days off, but luckily my amazing sister gave me some fun ideas to fill my time today! I made Jambalaya and a King Cake (a Mardi Gras dessert).

Both actually turned out really well! We didn't seal the cake edges very well, so it's not the most beautiful, but it didn't affect the taste..I'm sure yours is prettier Lyse :) The jambalaya didn't even give me heart burn, which is always good news. The best part is we have LOTS of leftovers! Curt says we're gonna have to step it up next year with masks and beads and such which I think is a great idea! Thanks Alyssa for sharing your find! Happy Mardi Gras!!!

My Valentine

We had a fun Valentine's weekend! Friday night was Zupa's take out to eat during the Olympic opening ceremonies. I was just a little tired after a long day of work so I didn't make it to the end but it was nice to relax with Curt. Saturday we slept in and then went to the temple, the perfect place to celebrate our love! We didn't do anything too exciting on Saturday..probably the highlight was Costco where we splurged on some of our favorite things...a Huge Strawberry Cheesecake, Chicken bakes, beautiful fresh strawberries, and chocolate milk. And of course, we can't visit Costco without getting hot dogs (Curt's fav!) Curt was so sweet and did our massive pile of dishes, and then we set up the tent and camped out watching the Olympics! Sunday was pretty chill. We made a nice steak dinner and had my little brother over as usual. I didn't want flowers or chocolates or presents..I just wanted a weekend spent with Curtis without homework or work, and that's what I got and I loved every minute!

On another note, Curt got accepted to the University of Utah Physical Therapy program!
I am so proud of him and all his hard work in everything he does. I cannot wait to watch him be a daddy! He is already so cute talking to Brooklyn and he gets so excited when he feels or sees her moving around. I'm so blessed that I got to marry the love of my life! I love you Curt! Hope everyone had a great Valentines weekend!!!

Wahoo for the future!

Curt got back from his crazy travels on Sunday and I LOVE LOVE LOVE having him home!!! And he is happy to be done w/ interviews and finally be able to focus on school again. And he is even happier because of the little e-mail he got yesterday...He got accepted to UNLV!!! I'm so proud of him and his hard work! And he is so relieved to know that he will be going to Physical Therapy school this summer. We will hear from the other schools within the next few weeks but it's so exciting to think about our future! (Scary also, but I'll try to focus on the exciting side.)

And, we are so thrilled for our little girl that will be coming in the near future. We had the 25 week appt today and everything is going great! She's quite the active little girly and we can't wait to have Brooklyn in our home!

It's crazy to think how much life will change in the next few months...When did we grow up?!?!

Sleeping Solo

As if trying to sleep during pregnancy isn't hard enough, I realized last night that having to sleep alone makes it even worse! Curt is gone doing interviews for the next few days and I slept horrible last night! I usually wake up several times a night (pretty sure I've always had some sort of a sleeping disorder), but last night I felt like I never really fell asleep until after 2am, and then I woke up at 4:55am..5 minutes before my alarm was set to go off. I HATE waking up right before my alarm goes off...it's just the worst! Needless to say I hope the next 3 nights go by fast!!
And in good news, we thought we had lost yet another camera since we had searched everywhere multiple times with no luck. As we were driving up to the airport yesterday, Curt reached under his seat hoping against hope (since he had looked there before) to find the camera, and lo and behold, there it was! So hopefully he will actually use it to take pictures of the campuses he is visiting...Since he doesn't have me there to force him to use it, I have my doubts but we will see!
